Kurt Busch Wins In Daytona

Autostock

Kurt Busch and Phoenix Racing picked up a great win tonight in Daytona. Most of the race saw Kurt team up with his brother Kyle, but a late caution took Kyle away from his bumper. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ended up pushing Kurt across the line in a paring which didn’t materialize until the very end of the race.

Kurt is in limbo every week, and has no deal for next year in place. But wins like these in the Nationwide series sure to up his stock. I don’t feel that any team should turn their back on a guy like Kurt. There’s a lot of great marketing that can be done with Kurt with sponsorship, and he is without a doubt a proven winner. There are very few proven winners in any sport that go unsigned and I believe after this year with Phoenix he will go to a top level team.

In other news Danica Patrick was fast all night until she wrecked. The #7 car was scary fast tonight and was faster than two car packs by itself. A big wreck took out half the legitimate competition, but still as always the Nationwide Series produced great racing at Daytona. Daytona is a great track, but the Nationwide Series always steals the show.
